This month we've finally seen the release of the long awaited High Elf team. They were the last of the teams on the 'teams of legends' list. As they remained ignored for two full editions, I thought their return deserved a bit of a celebration. I decided it would be fitting to revamp the Elf name generator. I’ve scoured plenty of official material including the new High Elf 'Spike! Journal 21' and believe I have a satisfactory amount of official elf names. With over 750 I think I can make a fair name generator that covers the different factions. The generator allows you to choose which gender and between the categories of; Generic, High Elves, Dark Elves, Wood Elves and Sea Elves. I also did research on the Sea Elves as I see a lot of misconceptions on what a Sea Elf actually is in the Blood Bowl community. It's been five years since the release of the Blood Bowl Second Season Edition. Is it too soon for Games Workshop to release a new edition? This question is one that divides our community quite a bit. For some, the last edition had problems that this new edition removes, for example, the 'wildly inaccurate' result while passing rule and the new 'keyword' system which solves a lot of the uncertainty around rules and skills interactions.   On the other hand, it could be argued that releasing a new edition relatively quickly on the heels of the Second Season Edition (2020) means more changes, too soon and risks more inaccuracies arising through lack of adequate play testing. The 'Living Rule Book' (LRB) era was a long, stable period in Blood Bowl's history, running between 2002 and 2016. If you are new or didn't know, I've built and maintained a Warhammer Fantasy and Blood Bowl Name Generator . It's a project that I’ve been working on for over 10 years now and this month I've been deep in the guts of code doing a big overhaul. The big visible change this month that I've implemented is SVG for all the races, which also means they now adapt properly to dark mode for all you night ghouls out there.
